Maintaining Products

Products can be viewed and maintained via the Product Maintenance form.

This form can be accessed by clicking on the CP Catalogue option in the Purchasing menu:

Then selecting the CP Products menu option:

The Products Maintenance form will open:

This form allows you to search for and select the required Product.

The drop-down options to the right of the first four fields provide you with further options for the search.  These are:

Add the relevant search criteria to the fields on the form as required.

Clicking on the  button will remove any search criteria added, the fields will revert to their original values allowing you to add fresh search criteria.

Click on the  button and a Grid will be displayed at the bottom of the form with Products that meet the search criteria - if no search criteria is added all available Products will be displayed:

New search criteria can be added and re-clicking on the  button will refresh the lines in the Grid with Products that meet the new search criteria.

Clicking on the  button will clear the field on the form and also now remove the Grid.

Select a Product Class by clicking on the link on the Product Code column in the Grid:

This will open the Edit Product form:

The fields and options on this form are:

This Detail Code will be used as the default Detail Code when the Product is added to a Requisition, at which point it can be changed if required,

If no Detail Code is added to the Product then the Detail Code on the associated Product Class will be used when the Product is added to a Requisition, at which point it can be changed if required.

Where both the Product and the associated Product Class has a Detail Code, the Detail Code on the Product will be used.

Alternatively clicking on the Find Product Class button, which is located at the end of the field, , will open the Find Product Class form that will allow you to search for and select the required Product Class.  This form is further detailed in the Find Product Class section.  Once selected the Product Class will be added to this field.

Where the Catalogue option is displayed, the Product will be included as a Catalogue Product when adding the Product to a Requisition.  Adding Catalogue Products to a Requisition is further detailed in the Catalogue Products section.

Where the Non-Standard option is displayed the Product will be included as Non-Standard Product when adding the Product to a Requisition.  Adding Non-Standard Products to a Requisition is further detailed in the Add Existing Non-Standard Products section.

Where the Template Product option is displayed the Product ca be used as a template from which other similar Products can be created.

The option on this field can be changed, if required.
