Reference Fields Section

The Reference Fields section of the AM Asset Types form, as detailed in the Creating Asset Types section, contains the following fields:

These are as follows (mandatory fields are notated with a red asterisk *):

• Reference fields/Label fields 1 to 5: There are 5 user defined reference fields and 5 corresponding label fields available.  These are used to specify 5 user defined fields for the Asset that has this Asset Type included.

Each of the 5 Reference fields can have one of the following options:

• Mandatory: Select this option to make this field a mandatory field on the Asset where a value has to be added.
• Optional: Select this option to make this field an optional field on the Asset where adding a value is discretionary.
• Not Required: Select this option and this field will not appear on the Asset.

The corresponding label fields should include the name of the field that are to be displayed on the Asset, i.e. where the option in the Reference fields have the mandatory or optional option selected.
